About Muddy Paws & Me
Hi, my names Amelia, welcome to muddy paws and me.
It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion.
When I got my golden retriever, Lola, I quickly realized just how much work goes into raising and caring for a young dog. Between trying to balance my daily responsibilities, work, and giving Lola the love, training, and attention she needed, I began to truly understand how challenging it can be for pet owners. Puppies require so much patience, energy, and time, and while it was incredibly rewarding, it also opened my eyes to how overwhelming it can sometimes feel.
This experience inspired me to start my own dog walking and sitting business. I wanted to offer support to other pet owners who might be in the same position I once was—juggling busy schedules while still wanting the very best care for their pets. By providing walking, sitting, and companionship services, my goal is to not only give owners peace of mind but also ensure their dogs are happy, exercised, and well cared for when they can’t be there themselves.
Where did the name 'Muddy paws and Me' come from?
The name Muddy Paws and Me holds a very special meaning to me, as it was inspired by my late golden retriever, Marley. No matter where we went, every walk with Marley ended the same way—he would come home absolutely filthy! Even on days when we visited places that didn’t seem muddy at all, he somehow always managed to find the tiniest puddle or patch of dirt to roll in. It became one of his trademarks and something we grew to love about him.
Marley was named after the film Marley and Me, a movie I adored when I was younger. Just like the Marley in the film, my Marley had that same cheeky, chaotic, and endlessly lovable personality. Through the years, the name couldn’t have been more fitting—it perfectly captured the joy and mischief he brought into our lives every single day.
When it came time to name my business, I knew I wanted it to reflect the bond I had with Marley and the memories he left behind. The “Muddy Paws” part came naturally, as it reminded me of his love for mud and messy adventures, while the “and Me” was a nod both to the movie and to the partnership I shared with him. Together, it felt like the perfect way to carry a piece of Marley forward with me while also creating something meaningful and personal for my little business.
About me
For as long as I can remember, I have always been surrounded by animals, whether it was horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, or even little hamsters. I’ve always felt a natural connection to them, and no matter the type of animal, I find myself drawn to their unique personalities and the comfort they bring. Some of my happiest childhood memories are tied to animals—whether it was spending hours brushing a horse, playing fetch with a dog, or simply sitting quietly with a cat curled up on my lap. Growing up, they were a constant presence in my life, teaching me responsibility, patience, and empathy. Animals have always been more than just companions to me; they’ve been family, and I can’t imagine a life without them.
